Hey All,

I have been using this site extensively over the past few weeks while researching the in's and out's of becoming a real estate investor, so I decided to join.

My wife and I just moved to Evanston from San Diego. We want to begin investing in rental properties to diversify our investment portfolio and as a way to generate passive income, ideally starting off with a 1-2 bedroom turnkey property. We want to use this experience as a way to learn about the city and it's neighborhoods and as a springboard to further investment opportunities.

I am starting to analyze the home price vs rent income of each neighborhood for the property types I am interested in, generally focusing on anything north and west of the loop. Ideally the property is not too far from Evanston as I plan on being the landlord. Does anyone have any suggestions for good real estate attorney's and agents that cover this area, have backgrounds in investment properties, and are willing to work with first time buyers?

Thanks!

Sean
