As someone who's been in the poconos for 4 years now, I have to warn you guys it's literally the worst time to invest in it. Prices are about double what they were 3 years ago, interest rates are double as well. Competition is outrageously high (aka, why you two are trying to get in!) and to top it all off, most communities are watching tobyhanna township with an eye on banning them altogether in their township/HOA. There's pending litigation to see how it all plays out, and in the next 6-12 months or so the landscape could drastically change based on the outcome.

I have a few properties and I've basically told myself I can no longer invest in the Poconos until the market or legal environment drastically changes, so for now I'm looking elsewhere. So unless you guys know more than I do, I'd keep researching. Good luck!

Hey Scott, this information is helpful. I am aware that the market is obviously hotter than it has been 3 years ago, i mean isn't that pretty much everywhere at this point? I've been looking in Albrightsville which as far as I've been reading for the past few months is very STR friendly. Houses are selling higher and it does seem competitive, but based on looking at some data it seems like there is still potential for cash flow. I'd be interested to hear any other markets you're looking at currently. This is all new to me and would be my first foray into real estate investing so I am happy to take any advice I can get.

Hey @Yash Bhatt and @Sean Eley. Have you seen this about the restrictions? It has some good info.

Yes Michael, I have actually looked at that exact website when I was looking into the area, and for now in the town I have been looking, regulations are set and STR friendly.

Hello Bigger Pockets community!

My name is Sean Eley and I’ve been reading and researching short term rentals for almost 18 months now and I am ready to dive in.  I am looking for short term friendly agents in the Poconos area of Pennsylvania.  I also am in need of a lender as well.  If any of you have recommendations please reach out.  I am so excited to start my real estate investing journey!
