Keep I would love if you kept us updated on how your rental experience is going. I'm currently looking at cabins in the area and would be greatful for some insights.

I have about $80,000 to invest in realestate in the Lakewood OH area. I was wondering what most of you think I should do. I have thought about getting a duplex or a triplex... 

I have also looked at a quad that is a homepath home but it needs some work, but is only listed for $53,000... 

Iv been doing a ton of research and just don't know what to do next. I just graduated college and looking to expand my wealth at a decent pace.

It's 2 bedrooms, 3 baths. The property taxes run $1000. And we planned on managing the property our selves. It is actually not in Gatlinburg, it is in Sevierville. And I dont believe their is any HOA fees.

Hey All, 

Just wanted to bring up a possible idea I have been having to you guys. 

SO currently me and my father have been looking at putting our cash together and purchase a log cabin in Gatlinburg for a vacation rental. The main purpose of the property will be a secondary income and an investment. We have found one cabin that is listed for $249,000 and rents for approximately $30,000 per year. 

 We are completely new to realestate investing and kinda would like to grow this into a business and at one point (hopefully in the next 5 years) manage multiple properties. 

Does this sound like a direction we should be heading or should we focus on something else? Anyone who has rental properties in the area have any tips or advice? 

We are open to any ideas so if you guys think we should do something completely different let us know.

Hi, I am new to BP and to real-estate investing. I am a recent graduate from college with an engineering degree. However,I really would like to pursue real-estate investing instead of an engineering job. I also recently inherited some money from my uncle so I do have so money for down payments. I am currently looking at properties around the area and just happened to come across a property that seems completely out of the question but I was curious what you guys thought. 

Like I said it is a 13 unit building. It is listed for $499,000 with a 9.7% cap rate. The property is listed with its current income of Gross: $108,480 with total expenses of: $60,163. 

Would a bank even slightly consider giving me a loan for a property such as this or should II try to get a more reasonable property such as a duplex for about $150,000?
