Michael, this is your decision.  I am a college graduate and that has provided me a living.  Any wealth I enjoy is from real estate. I will put my money on hustle over diplomas all day long. The safe road can also be a lead weight around your ankle and mediocrity. I see much better returns, hour for hour, on time spent on real estate investments vs. a job.

Brandon Turner started out young and look a the life is enjoying at a young age.

I get that the college degree then career is for most people.  No one said you have to be most people. You seem to know the risk.  I support pursuing your passion.  Go for it!

@Spencer Glade

Please read last post about rescheduling of meeting/overlap with REIA meeting.

 I would recommend this one or ours in the following months. No experience necessary.  Great place to learn and get questions answered.

**Important**

It looks like our January MeetUp was actually scheduled for the same date/time/place as the Utah REIA meeting this month. In light of this, we have decided to reschedule this meeting to Feb 19.

It is also on apartments investing this month.

You are weldome to attend their meeting but be advised it is $15 if you are not a member.

Sorry for the mix-up. Watch for details on next month's meeting.

Please follow the Utah REIA link below for more information on their January Monthly Meeting.

Come learn about apartment investing.  Meet others with similar interests and see how it doesn't take a fortune to invest out of state or locally in apartment projects.  Find someone to help you further your investing. There will be a 30 minute presentation, questions and answers, and time to meet everyone.  This is a monthly event. Free to attend.

Yes you can.  You may need permission to access the property but that should be a condition of your contract with the seller.  May  counties keep property surveys on file here in Utah.  You may be able to look one up and save the cost. It may be worth a trip to the county recorder's office before hiring a surveyor.

I appreciate the posts Max Maxwell and Steven Singleton. The emerging market tool is a great starting point looking at and compare markets.  I will focus on the areas listed.
