@Account Closed - ditto! When I was in college and someone said they were from Gastonia, they would get the side eye. I would also love to know the draw and what has changed.

@Gerald Marshall, wow I didn't realize Gatlinburg was so popular. I was wondering how things were going with the wildfires. Did your STRs take a hit during that time?

@Prag Patel, I read about Charleston cracking down on the STRs downtown but opening it up to a very small section near Spring St. Thanks for raising that.

  @Justin Tahilramani,

I have never heard of Cameron and I am an NC native. How are you marketing your STRs -airbnb? Any best practices you could share? What type of properties are they and are you leasing your entire home or by room?

@Chris Harjes, Yes, I've checked out AirDNA and I do think it is a good baseline. What do you think about Hendersonville and Lake Lure for vacation rentals?

@Mike DeLong, I am also finding it difficult to determine a reliable way to estimate occupancy rate. You are in a better position in being able to test the market since you already own it and know you can convert back to LT if necessary. Let me know if you decide to test it and how that works for you!

@Elizabeth Wilson, I have looked but didn't see any. Seems like this area is not quite as established in the short-term space or maybe that it is I don't know the right people! Thank you for the advice.
