Hi All

I am looking to buy my first property for rental income. Given this is first investment, I would like to keep it local.

Any suggestions on neighborhood with good rental cash flow in Middlesex county ?

Thank for your help

Hi Jordan

Thanks for your reply. I have a family and kids so house hacking probably will not work. I am considering Rhode Island, do you have any recommendations for neighborhoods with good rental cash flow ?

Quote from @Colleen F.:

@Sathya Priya Sampathkumar you will find it difficult to find something in the Cambridge area. Look into MA/RI/NH landlord tenant laws and see what you can live with. Then decide how far away from your location you want to be. median home price is a little lower in RI. You aren't buying a median home you will buy from a smaller area but it gives you a reference point  ($537k/MA and $460K RI and $445k NH).  Look for town with prices around what you want to spend then talk to real estate agents and investors in those areas.  There are several listings of median house prices and you can go to those closet to your target price before you talk to people.

Hi All

I hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday. I am new to real estate and looking for my first investment. I am comfortable for a property upto 200K with 20% down. Given this is my first investment, I want to try local before I go out of state. Does MA has a neighborhood with good rental cash flow for 200K ? Also I am thinking I can expand to Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Connecticut which are close to MA. Looking for some suggestions on good neighborhood in these states with good cash flow. Thank you

Hello Folks

I am new to this forum. I am very interested in real estate and been learning a lot. One thing I find no answer is, I am on work visa in US (H1 visa). Can people on visa still invest in real estate ? Anyone like me here who have or had visa and how it impacted your real estate investing.

Hi All. I hope everyone are having a relaxing long weekend. I am new to Bigger Pockets. I been reading a lot and listening to their podcasts. I am from Massachusetts, close to Cambridge. Are there any local folks that I connect with ?
