Roy you are very observant and absolutely correct about me being a SAR Tech. The market prices have been slowly dropping and I'd say it's a buyers market. BC assessments says that the average house price in the area fell 4% to an average of 350ish. No where near where prices are on the mainland. That seems to be a common reason for people moving here. Lower prices and a better quality of life.

Hi. Just getting into property investing with the intention of buy and hold and self managing the rentals.

In the past we have bought and sold properties that were our principle residence and done well. Hind sight being 20/20 we should have held on and rented them. We just didn't have the knowledge to be confident in doing so.

I have to say that BP is a great source of info and although some things are different here in Canada compared to the US market, I have already gained a lot of knowledge.
