@Nicholas L. Yes my dad says the same thing. I may try to invest locally actually now that I understand I would need to fly back and forth very often to buy properties etc.

@Mike Paolucci Thanks for sharing your story! Yes California prices are crazy especially SF. Ohio makes more sense. You too!

@Samuel Diouf thanks for encouraging words! :) Hope I get as further along as you at some point. I'm just starting to learn about analyzing markets so maybe I can see why you liked Ohio better later on! Good luck on your journey as well.

@Brandon Leffler I am also very interested in Florida! What does core 4 mean? I don't want to purchase on the most dangerous street, this is true. What do you consider is safe enough? Do you read any statistics and if so, where?

@Logan Laperriere I'm currently interested in Florida. I read the news https://www.newsweek.com/florida-homeowners-desperately-tryi... (I'm trying to buy low and sell high!) and I like the warm climate. The wholesalers are an interesting point to mention, I can see it being easier to maintain a new property but I don't know anyone starting out with wholesalers on Youtube or seen it anywhwere. I will reach out if I'm ever interested in Michigan. I don't really like the cold so it may not be soon.

@Michael Smythe thanks for the book recommendation! I've recently read Rich Dad Poor Dad but not that one. I always like reading books for inspiration.

Hi,

I’m a new investor in my late twenties looking to acquire my first long term rental property. It would be great if anyone can share their stories of how they first got started!

Thanks,

Sarah
