I am also living abroad and itching to get by my first investment property. Thanks for the post, I'm seeing a ton of great insight in the comments!

This is great.. thank you so much! I'll take a look at the guides.

All the best,

Sara

Hi!

Any advice on long distance real estate investing for newbie? Currently, I do not live in the United States as I'm working overseas. I really want to get into long distance real estate investing, buying & holding properties for long term rent. I have about 35k saved for this effort right now, will definitely be more in the upcoming months.

Is 35k enough to get started? What would be a more realistic number? Anything to keep in mind if I am investing very long distance?

Any advice appreciated,

Sara B

Hi All!

I have made it a goal for myself to buy my first investment property in March 2020, however I currently work overseas in Kuwait. I'm 24 and have about 40k saved up (planning to have more by March) and I'm wondering how realistic it is to execute something like this while overseas?

Also, if anyone has any advice on how to find "smart" areas to buy properties in other than my surrounding area where I grew up, that would be much appreciated! I love to read and listen to podcasts, so any suggestions there would be fantastic as well.

Truly new to investing in real estate all together and I'm not exactly sure what goes into it, so I'm very excited to be joining BiggerPockets and becoming an active member.

Best,

Sara B

A total inspiration for anyone who wants to do long distance real estate - I'm glad you recommended a book to read specifically about that. I currently live in the Middle East for work, but am looking to invest back in the United States and am curious how difficult the management would be. Thanks for sharing!
