Hello Everyone,

I recently bought a rental property using HELOC from my primary residence as a down payment. Is the interest paid on HELOC tax deductible?

Appreciate your response.

Thanks,

Sai

Hi,

I live in Southern California (LA). Market here is very hot and it is almost impossible to find any property with positive cash flow. But there are few townhomes/condos (new) under my budget which almost breaks even with monthly expenses on it (taxes, interest, principal, HOA, etc).

Is it a good idea to bet on these properties to appreciate over time? Though I am having slightly negative to no cash flow.

Thanks!!

Hi,

I am a new real estate investor based in LA. I have recently closed a townhome in LA and producing some cash flow out of it.

Now I feel am ready for another investment, but I don't have enough cash to put 20% down on the next investment. Me and my wife both are on W2 with well paid jobs and we own a single family.

Is it wise to take HELOC loan on our home and use that as a down payment on the next investment property?

Appreciate any feedback.

Thanks,

Sai
