Basically, zillow offers are no strings attached which may be attracting the sellers to give a try as the sellers do not need to fix or prepare the house. If luckily the zillow's final price is higher than the nett price what otherwise the seller might get through the routine channel of, fixing, preparing, staging, getting into a contract with a realtor for 3 months, holding cost etc. it may look like a "give a try with zillow" scenario. Some people are lucky to succeed in this looks like.

Thanks for all the excellent info - @Alecia Loveless , @Curt Smith and @Adrienne Green.

Sorry I didn't mention this in my original post - this house is connected to the city sewer and water supply. I plan to fix and hold it as a rental.

Appreciate your detailed responses, Curt Smith and Adrienne - I learnt so much from this thread. I'll do a general inspection first and see if the inspector finds anything suspicious regarding termites, and if he does, I'll go ahead and do a termite inspection then.

What are the various inspections commonly done for a house built in 1958, apart from the general inspection? This house has a basement.

Thank you so much!!

How about HELOC loan on the primary residence taken 12 months prior to making it an investment property? Does it still holds good or do we need to inform the bank and ask them to refinance at a higher rate?

So if you plan in taking the cash and immediately turning it into a rental there could be issues such as mortgage fraud or your lender calling your loan balance due in full due to you not occupying the residence.

Thank you Dakota.

Anyone know about taking ACH payments via Dwolla, how different it is compared to how other companies such Cozy, Avail.co  handling similar ACH payments ( without Dwolla?).

Any issues as a landlord we may face for any errors caused by Dwolla?
