Hi Ross Kauffman I actually work in Hamilton so I'm familiar with the area. I know there's not much around there but I really think there's opportunity to grow the market. For a novice investor this may be a challenge but I eventually want to invest/ build some large apartment complexes especially around the Hamilton station! For now I'm focusing on starting with multifamilies but that's ultimately my goal. Maybe we can partner up on that in the future :) Wishing you best of luck in your REI journey

Thanks Johnathan Boyle I'm interested in the lower broadway/Ironbound area and it will be owner occupied. I'd love to learn about the different mortgage companies that cater to this market so please share. Also I see that you're local to this area would love to connect and pick your brain about what I should know :)

Hi BP, My name is Sandy and I'm a new investor looking to begin my journey by purchasing a 3-4plex home by August of this year and house hacking for the first two years as I build my portfolio with additional multi families. I've read a number of REI books and listened to many BP podcasts and am finally looking to take my initial steps by ensuring I buy it right going in. My goal is to acquire a 50-100 unit apartment complex in 5 years (over ambitious but willing to put in the work). Newark is an emerging market located 20 mins away from NYC and as a current resident I am aware of the progression and improvements being made in the community. I'm looking to connect with any REI in the area and join REI groups if available. Any advice rendered will be greatly appreciated!

Hi Barbara, Welcome to BP! I am also a newbie looking to invest in Newark. I currently work in Pennington NJ but live in Newark and am very familiar with the area. I'm still doing my research and hoping to have my first deal within 6 months. It's great to see more people from the Jersey area joining BP and interested in Newark. Wishing you the best of luck!
