I have been pretty well soured on Turnkey real estate. I had the unfortunate luck to run into Clayton Morris and his merry gang of con artist. Don't go by reviews on Morris's videos. He is able to delete all the bad ones. Believe me there are several hundred people who have tried to post about their experiences. His gang sold me 15 houses. Only one of them was profitable. None of them was ever properly renovated. One which I was told had extensive renovation, but hadn't been rented, burned down. That is when I found it had never been renovated and that the folks who were living there when I took the house away from Oceanpointe Management, had lived there for 13 years. It was only breakeven because of the insurance payout. Clayton Morris is fond of saying that a clogged toilet is the worse thing you would have to face as an absentee landlord. No, the worst thing is when the substandard houses he peddles burns down and your tenants die. It took me nearly three years and living on a budget of 22K per year to dig myself out from the hole Clayton Morris put me in. I finally unloaded all the houses, but the one good one. All told I lost 66% of my so called investment, and put it back into mutual funds. With any luck I will start drawing on it when I turn 71.

Chris Hedlund: I guess Clayton Morris is very disappointed that I have no boss he can bother. He is just like a rat in a trap, thrashing around.

Clayton Morris didn't like me commenting on his post on LinkedIn. I wonder if he really is back in the US, or is he thinking of reporting me to the authorities in Portugal. I guess he thinks that his very persuasive podcasts don't constitute 'talking' to me.

It looks as if BP stripped out the video link. Just check out The Holton Wise Property Group's videos on Clayton Morris.

Just spent the evening searching for mentions of Clayton Morris on Youtube. I noticed that some of the results didn’t seem to feature him in any way. I found that he was mentioned in the comments. I found this by making sure I scrolled to the bottom of the comments then did a Command F to perform a search. That is on a Mac, I think it might be Control F on a Windows machine. Usually it was folks asking about in investing with him. Some of these are very recent. I sent them all links to the most recent videos.

Documentary

Watch the video. Look at my profile photo. Note the photo in the video. Don't do what I did!

I just went onto the Morris Invest website. I was shocked to see that he is still running the same Ponzi scam he was before. Won't he every be stopped?

My real estate guy just did a face time call with me showing what one of Clayton Morris "Hard Working Blue Collar" workers have done to one of my houses. I have managed to get rid of six of the houses and the rest are on the market. I am hoping to salvage a little of what he ripped me off for.

James I think you need to start a new thread. When I found this one it looked as if it were 10 months old. I think folks need to see that this an on going battle against Clayton Morris.

Stay as far away from Clayton Morris as possible. Everything he says is a lie. Rates of return are nowhere as high as he said the would be. Of the 15 properties he sold me only two have showed a slight profit the rest are bleeding me dry. He likes to say that the people who rent C class properties are hard working and far less trouble than folks that rent A class properties. I have lost count of the number of evictions I have had. Even when they leave without going to court, they trash the place. He sold me 15 class D properties that he assured me were class C. Investing with him was the worst thing I have ever done in my life. I have been working for almost two years to dig myself out of the mess he got me into. Being a long distance landlord is a pain. I can't wait until the day that I am able to sell the last dog he sold me. Invest your money in a IRA or a 401K. I had $730,000 invested in the stock market before I got talked into taking it out and becoming a slum lord. I will be lucky when all is said and done to have $100,000 left.
