Thank you everyone for the warm welcome!

@David Gotsill, thank you for the information!
Pleased to see more locals in this community. I would very much like to hear more about your story as well.

I took the liberty of signing up on the meetup, and definitely show up on the next month if my day job allows!

Hello everyone!

My name is Samuel, and I'm a 29-year old Swede living and working in the middle of Tokyo, Japan.
During the days I do consulting in a field unrelated to real estate, but I am very much interested in investments and passive income. So far my only investments have been into stocks, where I have come to the conclusion that a passive investment approach suits me better.

The concept of cashflows from real estate intrigues me greatly, so I have recently begun looking into entry-level resources. I was naturally brought here.

I have no real estate experience, but I would like that to change soon!
Being a foreigner living in Japan, I hear that it might be difficult to secure a loan until I can get a permanent residence visa. Thus, I would love to take the opportunity to learn the ropes, network, and do research during the time it takes to be deemed credit worthy here.

It's a pleasure to meet you all!
I'll be lurking the forums quite a bit from now.

Best,
Samuel
