 That just sucks.

I've spent the last hour looking at yurt designs.  Gorgeous buildings!

My friend from Solace Village down in New Mexico is kicking around the idea of starting an intentional community utilizing tiny homes.  I'm intrigued with the idea.  Does anyone know of any tiny home communitities in New Mexico?

@Yasmina - This!  This is gorgeous!!!!

:)  Unfortunately most of Colorado is NOT friendly to tiny homes.  I did look to stay in this area for several years, but on learning that the minimum sq foot for a home is 600 sq ft my heart just sank.  My preferred home is 200 sq ft.  I could live in 300 sq ft but that is pushing what I can take care of.  Anything over that is just too big for me.

If you have a chance to step into the IKEA store they have 'homes' of 600, 500, 300 and 250 sq feet set up.  It's a wonderful experience to step into one and know what fits you.

Mobile home living and boondocking is more acceptable in the Denver Metro area than tiny homes. Go figure.

:)

Hi!

I live in Denver, Co.  This is NOT a friendly community for tiny homes.  There was an article in Westward in Oct or Nov of '14 regarding the issue, and that tiny homes under construction are being fined and held up indefinitely.  However, this is also a situation where the right verbage will open doors.  Instead of saying tiny home using the terms mobile home and resort cabins does the trick.  There are a lot of resort cabins in the Denver, Metro area.  Another point of interest is boon docking.  As far as I've been able to tell parking enforcement in the Denver Metro areas are not going after boondockers parking on side streets.  (I've heard stories about boondockers getting chased out of the walmart parking lots here, but not from any direct source.)  I put this down to the year-long need for transient/seasonal workers.

Not sure if this helps any, but I hope it does.

Sam

Hi! My name is Sammantha Ford.

I am a reluctant newcomer to the idea of real estate. My first understanding of the pitfalls of real estate came with some harsh lessons growing up. In recent years health issues require I be more proactive in planning my future, and somewhat limit what I can do in regards to property management, maintenance and general home upkeep and house cleaning.

For this reason I am *very* interested in the subject of tiny homes and the tiny home market. Unfortunately I currently live in Colorado, which is not tiny home friendly. My plan is to move into the Albuquerque area within the next year, which is much more open to the tiny home phenomena.

My hobbies include writing fiction in the Paranormal Gothic genre and adoring my cockatoo and parrotlet. I am hopeful to meet others with similar tiny home interests.
