I've always loved houses. I would spend time during the summer when I was a kid, drawing houses or looking at the houses for sale. When I found out you could make a profession out of buying and keeping houses I knew it was for me! Of course I really like the other life benefits such as have financial freedom and time freedom that can come with it too.

I have a Master's in Community Counseling from Kent State University and a Bachelor's in Psychology and Women's Studies from West Virginia University.  Might seem like a far stretch from that to Real Estate but really I just made a profession out of studying people which I think will be incredibly helpful in my real estate career!

Hi I'm Sarah and I'm new to the Bigger Pockets forum but have been listening to the podcasts for the last few months (almost through them all!).  Within the last year or so I found the FI community and then the Bigger Pockets community.  I am completely dedicated to reaching financial independence through real estate within 5 years.  My husband and I recently sold our home to financially downsize and reach our goals sooner rather than later.  We are in the middle of fixing the new house up and moving into it hopefully very soon!  After we pay off debt and purchase other rentals we will eventually include this new house into our rental portfolio.  I am interested in buy and hold investing of single and multi-family houses in the Akron - Canton and Cleveland, Ohio areas.  Also, I have a huge soft spot for distressed houses and the older the better.   Thanks for reading and I'm really glad to be here!
