Quote from @Michael Smythe:

@Ryan Larsen what @Nicholas L. states is pretty true.

Being a PM is NOT a high-paying, often not even a well-paying job.

If you're set on that strategy, start calling up local large apartment complexes and asking if they are hiring. Many probably are.

Just be careful about getting sucked into a new career and not having the time/energy left to invest.

 Great advice Michael. Thank you!

@Ryan Larsen

are you already working in a W2?

the only reason to become a PM is if you want to be a PM as a career.  if you do, that's great.

but if you just want to do some kind of short term stint as a PM to help you invest... i don't think that's necessary.

that's like saying, i'll go become a loan officer for a bit to learn lending.  no need.  that's what the professionals are for.

i'd work in whatever job you can make the most money in.

 Hey Nicholas. Thank you for the thoughts! Yes I have a great W2 job, just graduated college looking to get out of the renting game.
No we are not wanting to be PM for a career. But I have seen opportunities to be a on sight PM at a steeply discounted rental rate. Those seem like a great opportunity to save even more money while gaining some useful insight. You bring up a great point though, we don't want to get consumed by PM stuff, just lean enough about it to one day know how to get a good one.

My wife and are eager to get into the relistate game but are working to gain experience while we build up a down payment to start house hacking. We are anxious to learn about relistate and would love an opportunity to be a an onsight property manager. We are gritty hard working people who love problem solving. We would enjoy keeping vacancy rates as low as possible, providing great tenant support, and even some simple maintenance and up keep on short or long term rentals. Any suggestions on where to find opportunities like these?
