Appreciate the book recommendations and will be looking into it.  Setting up a meeting with a financial adviser within the next few weeks for some guidance (ideally someone with real estate investment experience).  If you have any recommendations in the western washington region would greatly appreciate it.  Have some feelers out now so hopefully have something more solid in the upcoming week.  In the meantime will get to reading and listening.  Thank you again!

Good Evening (PST) to all,

Must admit, I am very new to the prospect of real estate investment but excited to start this journey. Have really enjoyed the information on the site thus far and have only scratched the surface of the resources here. Currently I hold a full-time position as a physician assistant working in Family Practice. I don't foresee real estate investing as being a replacement for my occupation but more of an adjunctive move to become more financially sound for my family. I have been working in my profession for the last 10 years. Though it is challenging and rewarding in its own sense, it lacks the financial growth I desire. I live in Western Washington in South Sound Pierce County with my Wife and four kids. We have a young family, so I am trying to plan for their futures. With four prospective future college tuitions and the ever-increasing price of admission financial freedom is a must. I do this with the best partner, my wife, who is a part time registered nurse, real estate agent, and full time Mom. Another goal of ours is to one day own a vacation rental somewhere tropical. I honestly believe that building a real estate investment portfolio is likely the pathway to making these dreams become a reality. We are still at the planning stages with a goal of saving over the next year for our first investment property hopefully in the Pierce County area next year. Though I have a lot more research in my future, I do like what the BRRR has to offer. With some basic carpentry skills along with some good personal connections I feel that the rehab piece would be an fun (but likely stressful) process. I have a lot to learn about the haggling process to find that good deal and of course the property management aspect for a sound investment. I look forward to educating myself with the resources here and hopefully building connections over the next year. Appreciate everyone's time reading my post.
