Private lender here - doing a cash-out refinance in Broken Bow and so far when underwriting with the historical booking history, the numbers are quite impressive!

I could see that, the area is a popular getaway spot for East Texans and DFW residents aswell as people from OKC so the vacation market there is pretty impressive. I hate to fall victim to the fear of what banks and our currency is doing right now, but we are going to go ahead and finish our long term rental investments first and see how the banks and economy is doing, I feel as vacationers alone is going to dip a bit this year so I am going to hold off until we have a little more income source coming in from rentals first..

Broken Bow is a great market.

The general rule of thumb is a 4 bedroom is going to generate more than a 1-3 bedroom. However, 1-3 bedrooms are great places to start. Find out what your budget is and go from there.

I agree ive always heard more heads in beds, but I think with broken bow its a more of a romanic weekend stay and ive talked with a couple people invested there already that there 1/1 are doing better occupancy thank the bigger homes.and I think my budget can handle the 1/1 better there also broken bow is pricy but worth it if you can you swing it I believe.

I'm building a massive cabin up on Carter Mountain but it's also going to be leveraged for biz trips and family vacations. So the double dip is what is helping. Plus I used a 1031 from another purchase!

that'll for sure be a HIT there! we usually do a family vacation up there once a year.

1/1 will always rent more often than a 4/4 but for less money. Depends what you mean by “does the best”

broken bow is a fantastic vacation rental market. But not cheap!

thank you, thats what ive been reading the 1/1 seem to do best in that area!! its defiantly not a cheap market to jump into. we love that area just for ourselves and always wanted to get into the game in that area and just now are able to pull the trigger on doing a deal there.. thank you for your input!

We are looking into investing in Broken Bow, Ok area. I was knew a few owner/host are on the BP forums, I was curious on how the market is doing in that area at the moment? we are from east Texas so we've frequented the area several times, at least once a year and the area is growing but we were curious on what type of units are doing the best in the area 1/1 or more? thank you anyone that can give us some inside in that market!

so Me and my wife have decided to take our first investment Plunge into doing our Townhome into a Mid term rental, we have already talked bout doing airbnb but with that market going the way its going and studying mid term rentals I think its a more doable way to go since we both work full-time.

We are curious if anyone on here as any experience in this area or Greater east Texas area on doing mid term rentals. we see there are tons of them on furnish finder but worried that since there are so many we may have a problem with making a return on investing in our property but I feel like we would be doing good to at least test the market and learn the Strategy by using our own property. thank you for anyone with any hidden gem advice for us!

Hey everyone I am Ryan from Tyler, Tx I am a real Estate Photographer as-well as a freelance photographer in the custom automotive world, but being around real estate and listening to BP podcast has really lite a fire for me and my wife to want to invest in the Short Term rentals. our plan is to use our equity from our home now to pick up a Vacation rental in the smokies, we are in Texas so I really looked at Broken Bow, Ok originally but that market has sky rocketed in price way out of our budget. once we get the vacation home producing a income, we plan to do some fixing up to our townhome to turn it into a medium term rental for nurse and collage students since we are a 10/15 min drive from both here locally. for some of you veteran investors does this sound like a proper way of going about getting our foot in the door of our investing?

By the way if any of y'all invest in Texas our southern central regions ever need professional photos taken or your STR me and the wife love Free night stays just saying haha!

Hey there Ryan, I'm originally from Tyler (went to school I'm Winona). I'm a travel nurse and have seen several assignments in Tyler, so I think that's a great idea to do mid term rentals there. I have considered buying there myself since all the hospitals and colleges are pretty close to each other.

I also own a cabin out in the Smoky's, so feel free to ask any questions!

thank you so much Chris, What part of the smoky's is your cabin in? we travel there at least once a year already and have stayed in several in Maggie Valley,Nc and fell in move with that area!

Tyler is defiantly on a increase of Traffic, Costco just bought property here, there is a amazon plant being built off i20 I believe between Tyler and Longview so its slowly turning into a mini Metroplex lol. thank you so much ill be leaning on you for sure I appreciate it!!
