Looking to learn more about mortgage note investing. Will to assist seasoned investors to learn (going through tape, cold calling, etc).

Thank you

Ryan

@Bill Exeter right because they are disqualified people, however, that would be legitimate under a solo 401k?

Post: Rocket Dollar feedback for SD IRAs and solo 401ks

Does anyone have experience (pros and cons) with Rocket Dollar?

I have already established a SD IRA with a custodian.

I am looking at establishing a SD solo 401k with checkbook control with a provider at lower costs.

I also am looking for advice if it is smart to leave my SD IRA with a custodian and pay the higher fees or if I should roll it over to a provider to minimize cost and gain checkbook control.

Thank you.

@Brian Eastman

Hi Brian, the SD 401k with checkbook Control seems pretty clear cut and dry.

However, what about the SD IRA? I was led to believe that this is more of a grey area and by establishing a custodian, you are ensuring protection against any tax/IRS issues? Have I been mislead?

@Ed Jesionka

Hi Ed. It’s a 5 acre coffee farm (that is cared for by another adjacent farmer) that has two build sites. Road has been improved and utilities on main road. It has a title and would be a private sale.

I have ran some numbers based on comps and feel comfortable with my max number, but given I don’t know the area, I am balancing risk vs reward (finding trusted POCs, lawyer, etc) and paying them and also knowing if the area fits growth plans.

Coffee essentially pays for everything so I wouldn’t rush to develop. Plan would be to build a vacation home/retirement home that I could double as BnB if the area is sought out a enough.

Thank you for your time, advice and feedback!

Ryan

I have doing some research into Costa Rica, specifically the San Isidro area, based on a possible great deal I have come across.  I do not know much, but am diligently doing my research on the area and would love some insight.
