I do something similar except I use credit cards for 3 percent transfer fee, 18 months zero interest.  I borrow whatever amount I can safely pay back in 18 months and throw it at the mortgage to save on interest.  I saved over 6000 in interest on 30k student loan debt.

@ Amy Herzing.  The property preservation is MSC.  I can try to contact them.  I did find the bank's facebook page and messaged them.  They replied wanting to know exactly what I needed, so I gave them more details and they will get back to me tomorrow.  I appreciate your help.

@ bill, I'm thinking it's an REO as the county website has the bank address listed as address of owner and, BOKF as owner. Does that change things?

Newbie in Kansas City here.   There's a vacant or reo property in town and the county website lists the address of a bank in another state.  I'm guessing this is an reo then?  Can I get some suggestions on which person I should talk to and what questions to ask?  Also, how would I access the property if the bank from another state is the owner.

I'm a newbie at 39 and I would appreciate any help with my situation . I have traced a vacant house (been vacant for at least two years) back to an out of state Bank in Oklahoma. I want to call them ASAP and was hoping someone could give me tips on what questions I should be asking and to whom I should be speaking. also, any ideas on how to get access to the house so I can come up with a number for them.
