Hello everybody

I am a french investor living in France. I created two C corp companies (One in Georgia with four houses and One in Florida with five houses). Those companies directly pay US taxes and as I don't receive any proceed from the rents in France, I don't pay french taxes.

My  children are the share holders of those companies. I lend money to the companies to buy houses and the companies repay me in 25 years instalments. I may use this money to make additionnal loans eventually completed with cash belonging to the companies. I put a slight interest on the loan to be paid "in fine" (when I will be dead...)

I went several time wisit my team : one turn key company in Florida, One other company in Georgia taking care of everything

I am with JWB since 2014. The first two years I had higher repairs and vacancy than expected, but it was bad luck and now things are running smoothly.

Last year, I had a fire in one house with a lot of damage. Being in France, I was rather anxious of the outcome. In fact, JWB directly handled everything with the insurance and I got quickly the money. Furthermore, they took care of the rehabilitation at a cost less of what I received from the insurance.

Being abroad, it’s a good relief to know you could rely on a company like JWB. The service is great, so I recommend it to any investor

I am with JWB since  2014. At the beginning, I was unlucky because I had more repairs and vacancies than expected, but now, I have several houses and things are running smoothly. More than that, I am specially satified by the way JWB handles things.

Unfortunately, I had a fire in one property last year with a lot of damage. Being in France, I was rather anxious about the outcome and the potential paper work to be done. In fact JWB took care of everything ; they contacted the insurance and managed to have me covered fast. Furthermore they took care of the rehab. at a cost less of what I got from the insurance.

So I clearly recommand JWB

Thank you for your answer.

As I have no specific problem at this time, I think what I need is a lawyer taking care of asset protection

Hello everybody!

It is often recommended to have a lawyer as part of your real estate investment team. I am a French citizen living in France. So far, I have no lawyer in my team; I think the main objective is to check you are well protected and to assist you in case of conflict.

Does someone can recommend a good lawyer meeting those objectives in the Atlanta area?

Best

Hi biggerpockets community!

I am a french citizen living in France and I created a Florida C-corp. with 5 SFH.

My  present registered agent increased its yearly price from 50$ to 200$ per year.

Could someone recommand a good registered agent costing no more than 50 $ a year?

Thanks

@Diana Muresan I am interested if you can assist with foreign loans. So far I bought the houses cash, and I am obliged to wait until I have enough cash to buy a house; in the meantime the cash is not working.

Hi BP fellows

I am a French citizen living in France and I invest in the US through C corp paying IRS to the States. As I don’t want to be double taxed, I don’t serve dividends.

I intend to invest the cash issued from the rents in stocks (REIT, other safe high dividend stocks, bonds…) before the acquisition of my next property. My US bank told me that they will not allow this for a C Corp.

I hope it’s not a general rule, do you know if some banks allow this?

Have a good day!

In my case the turn over was a lot greater than expected.

So far, I assume I was unlucky.

Beside that the management team is fine.

@caleb Griffin

Hi,

I also want to contact Shafritz & Dean, to create a LLC or C-corp. Can you introduce me to the right people?
