Real Estate is a very referral and relationship based business. So most agents who are not actively marketing with web and social media are probably only living off their sphere of influence. Almost every seller (not buyers so much) will want to make sure that they are going into business with someone who is established and professional. Most first impressions happen by someone visiting your website. Personally I think your website and Branding should be your highest priority to ensure that a potential seller doesn’t write you off as an unprofessional agent.

Great question! I run a real estate Branding and marketing agency...so I actually get that question a lot. First off, each state and each brokerage has their own rules. It is always important to have your brokerage logo included on all your marketing. I’m some states you also need your license number. I have never heard of a broker making special requirements on a custom domain name. As long as you don’t use “realtor” in the domain name...or any other trade mark. Your broker may not permit personal branding. If that is a huge issue for you, check out Keller Williams. They are the most encouraging of personal realtor Branding. Hope that helps!!

I would do it differently...personally for our clients we are all about first impressions. So if you hand out a card that might not look like you are a serious business, it is hard to change that perspective later down the road. What I often find better, is to say “I don’t have any cards on me, but what is your cell number? And I’ll text you my info” That way you not only give them your info....but they have yours as well and you can text them later for a follow up. Just an idea, no way is the right way. : )

We pretty much only do social media or AdWords campaigns. No denying that direct mail can still be ROI positive if done consistently and creatively.
For our clients we use Twilio, Zapier, and an up and coming CRM called Agile to pre schedule SMS marketing. Check it out!

We use the FB Lead Forms for our clients on FB & IG and it gets great results. Were you using that?

For our company...we use EDDM when “farming” a community for our clients. However it might not be the best bet for an investor...because it goes to every single door on that postal route. Instead, you can get your list to only mail to homeowners, and many other criteria. But EDDM is nice and cheap! Best wishes!
