Thanks @Patrick Wheeler for the advice. I'm just figuring out how to navigate BP.

Jared, thanks for responding. I actually grew up in New Jersey and have spent the last few years in Texas after graduating from West Point. I'm moving to Mass/ NH area for a job I accepted but want to buy my second home in the right area that will appreciate and allow me to add equity.

Joseph, thank you also for connecting. I'm curious what area you think I should look at for buying a home. I have looked at the Nashua area in NH and suburbs of Worcester in MA. Originally I wanted to buy a home for my family with my VA loan, fix up and rent in a few years once I become more established in the area. After doing some research, it seems difficult to rent a single family home in MA so I think my best bet is to buy a discounted property, put equity into it and sell in a few years. Thoughts?

Hello everyone. I am a transitioning Army Officer moving from Texas to the Massachusetts/ New Hampshire area. I recently sold my first home and fell in love with the process. I'm committed to making real estate investing the building block of my future wealth and am seeking to build a network in the Massachusetts/ New Hampshire area.
