I appreciate the responses but I'm looking more for financial advice pertaining to cash flow. I understand that the CRA taxes you capital gains when you sell your property however is it best to minimize cash flow to reduce the amount of taxable income you have to disclose or is there a better way around it?  My apologies for not making this more clear originally. 

Hi everyone, I'm new to the real estate game and looking for some insight on what the challenges are to investing in an income property in Canada compared to the US. The cost of housing is astronomically higher here so wondering if investing strategies have to modified in order to make the numbers work here.
