Hey Ronnie- Did you ever end up buying this property? We are also looking in this area and wonder how your success has been so far?

Hey Michael - yes we did. We just put the home up for STR (https://abnb.me/m9wcudWqDrb) so while it’s been less than 15 days , fairly happy with the performance so far. We only anticipate it to get better once we have more bookings and 3 5 star reviews. We also use pricing analytics tools so have compromised occupancy for rates here versus the competition that has a standard price (399 for 6 months and 349 for the other 6)

I'm attracted to the Finger Lakes area for STR investments. Own one on the Cayuga wine trail and am hunting for another.

Most houses in the 200s escalate quickly and I've been outbid multiple times. I see a promising property in Skaneatles NY - just outside the village zone so not subject to STR regulations - and with possible subdivision opportunity

Any thoughts around investing in SK from a STR POV esp a property that is NEITHER lake front / facing NOR in the heart of the village ?

Thanks Stephanie. Any stores in particular you'd recommend in the other areas that are affordable?

Hi all - newish investor here. Bought our 1st STR in December which came furnished and was pretty turnkey. We are now looking at our 2nd property and quite like one in the Ithaca area (about 25 mins from our existing; helps us keep the same team).

The challenge is that this property does not come furnished even though it is an existing Airbnb rental. It has a very artsy theme (named the Ithaca Art House on STR sites!) and we are struggling with strategies on furnishing this. The regular stores like Ashley etc won't do.

Any suggestions on techniques/strategies/stores to buy "unique" (aka : artsy, antique etc) furniture without breaking the bank?
