@Wendell De Guzman Just about half way through your very informative thread. I cant believe how quick and organized you are. I guess it comes with a decade + of experience. Im in the middle of finding my first property to flip. One in westmont one in bolingbrook. Have you ever dealt with these areas? I feel like i could learn so much from you and seeing as you're right in the area of where I want to start, I really hope we cross paths somewhere down the line!

@Steve B. Oh yeah, I would definitely still like the info. Are you a part of the association? Is there more than one you follow? Any info is appreciated.

@Brie Schmidt Thanks for the welcome! I just read on how you got started on your website. Enjoyed it. Look forward to reading your other entries.

@Mehran K. Thanks! And yeah I guess I never really put it into perspective but since graduating high school in'09 and one year of college in Milwaukee, the past 4 years have been a hell of a ride. I hope it continues!

Hello All,

My name is Robert Obniski, 23 years of age, currently residing in Wisconsin Dells, WI

A bit more about myself...

I was born in Chicago, IL to polish immigrant parents. When I was about 10 years old we moved to a major Midwest tourist town; Wisconsin Dells. My parents purchased a 73 room mom n pop motel which was family operated. It's what I give credit for all my skills to, Including office work, dealing with people, handy man-ness, etc. Jack of all trades type of work.

In fall 2010, my brother and I (with help from the parents) purchased our own hotel (which was in pre-forclosure) and operated it by ourselves for 3 years. (Hell of a wake up call to the real world for a 19 year old) I say for 3 years because In fall 2013 we sold the hotel, along with my parents motel to a local buyer.

Which brings me here.

My profit from the sale put a good amount of money in my pocket and gave me a great starting base. Since the sale I have only done one type of investment and that was I bought a condo here locally, renovated it myself, and currently renting it out. Cant live off that though..
However, it gave me the idea of real estate investing. Which is why I plan to move down to the greater Chicago land area (Downers Grove is where I am starting) and start my new chapter!

Happy I found this website and im sure I will be using it a lot in the near future!

Any questions comments or concerns...I'm here!

(sorry for the length...I like details)
