First thing is have you already been pre-approved with a lender? Do you already have a Realtor? If you have not been pre-approved with a lender that should be your first step.

Yes we are in the process of getting pre-approved right now.

How has the current Covid situation affected your portfolio, if at all? Are you seeing any differences between your regular tenants vs Section 8 tenants in terms of their ability to pay rent?

Hey everyone, long time lurker here and my family and I have identified a property in the Bay Area that we would be interested in purchasing as an investment property. The seller mentioned that we should consider look into renting to Section 8 tenants as they had some years before, and after doing some research and listening to Joe Asamoah's interview (BPP 356), I've decided that it could be a viable option. Does anybody have any experience working with Section 8 in the SF Bay Area, more specifically the city of SF? If so, I would love to connect. There is also an unused room that I think could be converted into a bedroom, which would jump the FMR (Fair Market Rate determined by the housing authority) by a considerable amount, so we would actually be looking at somewhat of a quick BRRRR project. If anyone has any experience on this, I would also love to hear about your experiences.

Thanks in advance!
