Thanks everyone for the insight. I have decided to not do anything with it, even before I posted this, but figured it would be a great topic to discuss since others may have questions since this is floating around the site's sidebars.

Given it hasn't been updated in about a year I would say NO to this opportunity!

I just came across a banner ad on the site here and clicked through to it as it seemed interesting. It is called REI Wholesale Guy.com

I knew full well that it would be an overly hyped opportunity full of the usual "broke to millionaire" pitches since the banner ad boast $3,000 - $15,000 dollars in as little as 7 days, but I wanted to honestly get a look at it.

Does anyone else have experience with this program that focuses on finder's fees? If so I'd like to hear!

Thanks Bill Gulley for that advice. I have already started to research a couple of the topics you described. Great information!

***********, I definitely am looking to get into the Chicago market as well as the rural outlying counties where I am located. I live in Ottawa which is in LaSalle County 90 miles or so SW. All of Northern Illinois is a great place for RE and I hope to join the ranks! Thanks for BIG Chicago welcome. Hope to be seeing you around.

Kind regards,
Rich

Thanks for the tips and welcome Brandon Turner & Al Williamson.
I'm a graduate of Northern Illinois University and just recently moved back to Illinois from California. Lived in the deserts outside the L.A. area! Look forward to seeing everyone around here at BP.

Hi Kelly

As Ned had said it doesn't much matter where you for the LLC as long as you register as a "Foreign Entity".

My main reason for commenting though is because I know that Missouri has some of the best policies with their LLC's in the way of privacy and protection for you and your assets.

For more information about forming an LLC in Missouri see the attached link! Best of luck to you!

Hello everyone my name is Rich Barrett and as the title says I am just starting out! I'm located just outside the Chicago Metro area.

I'm primarily looking to break into real estate by purchasing my first rental property (either single family or duplex). Being that I don't have initial funds or the greatest credit my desire is to partner with a great investor to get me up and rolling.

Also, I am available to "bird dog" or locate properties for investors in and around the Chicago Metro area as well as the rural outlying counties where I reside (LaSalle, Grundy, Kendall, DeKalb).

It's great to be here and I hope to be of help to others as well as time goes by!

Rich
