Hey Brad! My wife and I recently moved to Charlotte, NC from South Florida. I'm looking to do the same with my business partner in Raleigh and we're scoping out cities right outside of Charlotte and Raleigh. Would love to connect and hopefully meet up in the near future.

Hi BP community - just looking for some advice or answers as this is a new road I'm going down and not sure if there are many alternatives for this situation. All my life, I've worked W2 jobs and as of two weeks ago, took the leap to get into 1099 work selling solar paneling in the Carolinas. More income opportunity, chance to run my own business, be my own boss, etc... all the reasons one may decide to make the change.

However, was in the middle of a refi on one of my rental units and upon communicating with my lender on my career change, I was told that there shouldn't be an issue as long as they were able to wrap everything up while I was still employed at my W2 job. Long story short, timeline went longer than expected and they were unable to complete the refi due to the job change and proof of minimal income after being in my role for just under two weeks. The only 2 options my lender gave were: Get a W2 job (which I won't do), or wait 2 years to be able to prove income that meets their requirements. Any thoughts, advice, or other options would be much appreciated as this is uncharted territory for me! Thanks everyone!

Hi BP,

My fiance and I are looking to relocate to Charlotte/Charlotte metro area hopefully over the course of the next few months. Looking for a real estate agent or referrals for an agent who is experienced in working with other investors and invests themselves.

Ideal property would be a duplex to a 4-plex to house hack and use a 203K loan product, so someone who has had experience with this/have lenders and other connections who have worked well with 203K loans would be a plus! Thank you!

What's up BiggerPockets community! My name is Riley McMinn and I'm a new real estate investor living in Fort Lauderdale, FL while investing in Columbia, MO. I've been reading, listening, and self educating through BP over the past couple years and have recently taken that first scary/exciting/emotional roller coaster of a step and purchased my first duplex out of state. My fiance and I have put a long term plan in place to earn financial freedom in 5 years and none of it would have been possible without this amazing platform. Anyone associated with real estate in the Fort Lauderdale/Columbia markets, please don't hesitate to reach out and connect. Once COVID-19 and social distancing are things of the past, excited to attend any meet-ups in the South Florida community!
