Oh nice! @Jay Helms. What are you currently doing to achieve that? In regards to relationship building and dropping expenses?

I'm currently looking for one more rental but then also looking to get into some house flipping as well!

Hi @Jay Helms, thanks for reaching out! I saw that you currently have one rental in your portfolio. What other things are you currently working towards at the moment?

Hi everyone,

As a recent UW grad I was hooked on the idea of investing and making my mark in the real estate arena. Growing up my dad was always the handyman around the house and I was inspired by his talks about always trying to get into SFRs and flipping houses. Unfortunately he never had the opportunity but luckily for him I caught the bug as well. As of last year I just acquired my first rental property!

Having listened to numerous Bigger Pockets podcasts, I am just itching to further my way into this area. Being a hands on (and quick) learner, I would love to see how one acquires and remodels properties. After following along with a few contractors on their various jobs and talking with some investors I am looking for someone that may be able to show me (in depth) how they do things and what they look for. As for all newbies I know we all had the same initial fears and doubts as me. I'm extremely excited and have done tons of research but ideally I would like to see someone experienced go through the motions so I can truly see what the process is like.

Ultimately I am looking for mentors and guides that can help show me the ropes but don't think I won't pull my own weight. There is a payoff in the end and I hope that someone will be willing to help me out on my journey. One thing that is always talked about are the difficulty in finding people who are reliable, trustworthy and all out hard worker. I can tell you for a fact that I am all 3. I would love the opportunity and am not afraid of leg work/homework.

In my perfect reality, I would hope these new connections and friendships can turn into a mentorship where not only will I benefit but you will too!

If anyone here is willing to meet up and chat please don't hesitate to contact me.

Riley

@Ryland Taniguchi Thanks! I look forward to connecting and learning!

@Troy Fisher Do you have any good suggestions? I was looking towards the Tacoma area, but I was also looking for another house, ideally one I can live in and also rent out. Tacoma is currently a little bit on the far side at the moment unless I'm looking to do a flip.

@Patrick Britton Ideally looking within the surrounding areas of Seattle (Renton, Seatac, Burien). Something close to work but still within a good rental area.

@Tom G. Thanks! I'll have to look into them. What about it did you take the most away from?

Hi everyone! My name is Riley and I just joined not too long ago. I currently reside in the Seattle area and I'm looking to make my mark within the real estate industry.

I just bought my first property last October and am currently renting it out. I'm currently looking to expand my knowledge and grow my expertise with like minded people and hopefully grow into a successful real estate investor!

Currently I'm trying to find another house to live in, but the Seattle market is so hot and crazy right now, frankly I don't quite know if I should try and wait it out or find a deal on a house I can get right now.

I love making new friends and connections so feel free to reach out so we can connect.
