Thanks for the responses.

I'm looking to invest in MF through some crowdfunding platforms. I want to take some dollars out of my IRA to do so (not doing this in a SDIRA, I have a debt investment through that). I was wondering if the tax benefits of depreciation would meaningfully offset the withdrawal penalties from the IRA. I'm fairly new at this, so hope I'm not asking a dumb question (bit if I am, what the heck, I'll learn something). Thanks for the insight.

Ian,

Thanks for the reply. Your website is great - incredibly helpful information there on this topic. I've already discovered some things I wasn't aware of previously. Much appreciated.

Was wondering if many BP'ers have experience with investing in MF (or other sectors) through some of the platforms out there like CrowdStreet, Realty Mogul, Cardone Capital, FundRise, etc., whether accredited or not. As I get started, I much prefer MF to SFR, and some of these platforms look interesting. Appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks Alina and Rachel!

Guys,

Thanks for your responses - exactly what I was hoping for and expected from BP. Tyler, I agree totally on SFR vs. MF. I think I need to get more deeply involved in local networks and find a good deal I can be a part of. All the best,

Rich

Hi BP friends,

I'm beginning the real estate investing journey, and while I'm still in the research/learning phase of things (reading, REIA meetings, etc.), I already feel a bit of paralysis on what type of RE I should consider. I have a limited bucket of funds, but enough to purchase at least one decent SFR, but also considering Reg A type funds and other crowdsourcing opportunities. Would love to hear from some others on how they got started and anything else relevant for someone in my position. Thank you!
