What do people think of $15 min wage? What effect have you seen in those places where the law is already starting to change?

I currently live in Boston. The market here is pretty strong and probably one of the best when it comes to bad economic times.  What are some other markets on the west coast that might have similar demand/ supply constraints for a down economy.  San Francisco seems the top of the list, what else is out  there on the west coast regardless of price.

Here in Boston renters pay the brokerage fee, the same applies in New York and I hear San Fran does it this way also.  I see landlords being able to pass on that cost as a sign of strong demand and likely low vacancy.

What other cities pass the brokerage fee on to renters and do you agree or disagree the ability to do so is a sign of the market condition?

Hi all.  My name is Rich I live in Boston currently.

I've been working in rentals and investments for a few years and its pretty great.  I am looking to move to a new city with better opportunities.  I managed to snag a studio here in Kenmore Square at just the right moment.

I need some guidance on where to relocate to.  Ideally west coast (San Fran, Portland or Seattle) or Phoenix (maybe).  I am unclear how to situate myself.  I want to buy more property and all the locations I mentioned have good attributes in different ways.  Being able to work in sales, and work with renters and investors too is part of the consideration.  Here in Boston renters always pay the brokerage fee.  Cities like San Fran where this apparently also happens is a sign of market strength to me.  I want to continue to build my own portfolio, offer services like management and   brokerage and ideally start an investment fund.

If anyone is able to offer some perspective I would appreciate it.
