I use roxul for my soundproofing needs. I will do a similar setup to what is presented on youtube via Roxul (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YitQQJrksYI) when I do my living room to try and keep the sorruound sound in the room. I did use roxul soundproofing batting in my bathroom walls as I always hated being able to hear the shower from my bed. It took care of 90% of the noise. Once I change out the door I should be close to non-existent. 

1st time I laid laminate I had my brother help me. Neither had experience. We did 1400 sq/ft home in 2 days including tear out of carpet & tile. Very mid 90's home so no real open concept (read lots of corners and walls). Came out perfect and we put in ~7 hr days. They are moving slow. 

Beer I didn't give them on the jobsite. They would be gone. If a contractor is bringing their own beer my bet is they aren't insured either so off my property, the two seem to go hand in hand. Now if I come there and they are still there late in the day sure toss em one to build a good rapport.

Hi! My name is Richard Neumann and am a 31 year old near Belvidere, NJ. I have renovated 3 rental properties and 2 personal properties with my father. He has been the money and I have been the labor. I'm a mechanical engineer/project manager by day and jack of all trades at all times. I am looking to understand the financial side of real estate to find investors to renovate properties to either flip or turn into rentals. The end goal is to build a portfolio of properties of my own. We are a competitive family (I have two brothers as well) and while my father is currently in the lead in properties, I hope to equal or surpass him in the next few years.

I have tried to stay sharp and in tune with my local market after buying my personal property four years ago. My live in reno is almost complete. So I have been looking at distressed properties, drafting excel sheets to determine ARV of properties, following them to completion and then comparing what they sell for and the repairs they did to my sheets. I am happy to report that they have been within what I consider the margin of error. Now that I'm comfortable with that aspect I need to understand investing/loaning and of course that means networking. Something I have never been good with as I am quite the introvert. So what better way to start than from behind a keyboard! So let the learning and networking begin!

Read through the above posts and came to post agreeing with Tyler Resnick. Exact process I use for my bathrooms when tiling and not a single problem. Many say to only bring the cement board to flange of the tub. I bring it an 1/8" so or past the flange so I know its consistent along the tub and there is no gap. I find many of the acrylic tubs tends to have a downward bow in the middle that will leave a gap between the board and flange. Also when applying Redguard be sure to adequately cover the tub/shower pan as it's not an easy clean once dry.
