Post: Empty Lot, Not Sure What To Do!

Hi everyone! So my parents have a plot of land in Florida and they're not really sure what to do with it. They don't really have the money for a new build, and they can't move there because of their jobs. I was thinking maybe I could help them out in some way, but I'm not sure what my options are. I'd be willing to help them financially for a build but if I went FHA I'd have to live there for a year (no big deal for me) and then move out and rent it out? Maybe they could sell the land and use the money for a down payment on a resell? Just thinking of options and not sure what to do. Thanks in advance!

Yes, we FHA would require us to live on the property for at least one year if I’m not mistaken.

Hello everyone,

I am an newbie real estate investor based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. My wife and I torn as to how we should start our real estate journey. We are currently living in a rental and want to purchase a property in the next few months. We have around $15,000 saved up for a down payment. I'm thinking we'll have to go with an FHA loan to start. We are currently torn as to purchasing a single family or a multi family. My wife likes the stability that a SFH provides, while I really love the potential cash flow that a multi family can provide. What would you recommend we do? Thanks in advance!

Hello all, Question for all of you experienced investors out there! My wife and I are starting out our investing journey and we’re deciding which direction to go with for our first investment. Single Family (Live N Flip) or Multifamily House Hacking. Most likely going to go with the FHA or 203K route as this is our first major investment. Thoughts? Best Wishes, Richard

Hi Mike, I’m definitely going to look into that. As the the electrical grid, it all depends where you are on the island. I’m in the greater San Juan metro area. Although there are sporadic problems here and there, over all the electrical grid in functioning pretty well.

Hello everyone, my name is Richard and I live in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I’m relatively new to the world of real estate investing and I’m excited to see what’s in store! I really want to get into rental properties and maybe even vacation homes since Puerto Rico is a huge tourist destination. I’d love to meet up with some of you and chat if you’re in the area! - Richard D.
