Hi BPers,

I'm considering whether to buy just a 5 acre parcel in 29 Palms or one with a 1950's homestead cabin on the property too. I'm curious to hear from those who've purchased either in 29P what challenges I face on each side of the coin. People have told me that when you buy just land, many end up never building because of permits and other restrictions. If you know what those are whether they're a matter of time or money, please share.

From the cabin-on-site perspective, I still need to run a water line to the city meter, I have to get solar and a septic tank. The purpose of the purchase is for weekend getaway and maybe regular living if I can bring some quality amenities but not during the summer time. All your thoughts and comments are appreciated.

Richard
