I would only do it if it were legal and my understanding is that it is in cook county.

Has anyone been thru the process of claiming the homeowners exemption in cook county on a rental property ? Is it legal? What is the exact process? I am confused with filling out the certificate of error refund ap

I think she got married, which is good but  chose not to tell me so she could work it as best for her.

She just didnt fill out her paperwork and lost  her voucher . Now she paid her portion for April but the rest?

I have a section 8 tenant who let her voucher expire. She didnt fill out the paper work. She paid her part of the rent for April but when I called sec 8 I got the news.

Do I start with a 5 day pay or quit and the start eviction process?

Please advise.

Rich

Hi,

As a landlord in cook county,

I wanted to ask Dan Benoit if a cashiers check purchased by the tenant with all info on the check ,pin # and purchased by tenant name and made out to Cook County Treasurer, is sufficient or does it need to be from their checking account?

Thanks,

Rich

My tenant in Park forest, cook county just paid the 2017 second installment out of her checking account after we deposited in her account the amount we had set aside for this purpose out of the rent.We have a rider on the lease stating she pays the real estate taxes.

What is my next step and when do I do it?

Also,is a certified check made out to cook county treasurer with her as remitter a good enough paper trail or does it have to be her personal check?
