Sam,
I have purchased two homes in Memphis (my original hometown) using realtor Daphne Battle. She can be reached at 901-233-4487. I was very happy with the units she recommended. She also vetted the current tenants who came along with the units and things have been working well for the past 3-4 years...knock on wood!

Grant,

Yes, I've been in the area since 1997. We have 2 properties in the Buckroe area and will be closing on one in Fox Hill this week.

Tinotenda,

Make sure everyone is on board with what will happen to the existing security deposit. Will you have the previous owner deposit into your account at closing? Will the tenant receive their deposit from the previous owner and then be responsible for submitting a deposit to you? I've purchased 2 tenant occupied rentals (with the help of an excellent realtor) and was lucky the previous owner didn't try to leave with the tenants deposit since it was something I hadn't originally considered. Good Luck!

Any recommendations for a reliable repair company from the Memphis TN area? I currently own 2 rentals in that area. I was using Handyman Connection but just found out they went out of business. The company should be capable of conducting minor repairs and routine maintenance. Having a website and the ability to communicate via email is a definite plus. Thanks in advance BP!
