Coming from an internet marketing back ground; the name of the game in virtual real estate is traffic. If you have a lot of traffic to your site then you have a higher Alexa ranking. A high Alexa ranking means that you could possibly resell the site for a profit.

That being said build that traffic stream and thus your rank can take a lot of work. To rank organically (non-paid traffic) on Google you need to be adding quality content to your site regularly. You can add some back links (links on other popular sites back to yours) but in the last few years Google has changed their algorithm to place less value on this. From experience building traffic can add hours to your work and thus kill your pay per hour.

Additionally, a lot of the pay for traffic options out there are beginning to be discounted by Google and the other search engines because they are realizing that most of the interactions being recorded are not legitimate.

Finally, there are a lot of professional internet marketers out there doing the same thing so the market is flooded with hundreds if not thousands of people cramming the same niche markets. Just to give you an idea a Google search for "real estate investing" returns 74,700,000 results. that is a lot of competition. Now if you wanted to start a blog it can take 2-5 years for you start growing a following and making a part time income from the blog.

I hope this gives you an idea of the virtual marketplace and the key take away is for every Amazon, Facebook, Ebay, etc. There are thousands and thousands of other sites out there that make little to no money.

if that guy would have have came to bigger pockets first he would have been a lot better off. Even as a complete Newbie I would have known better just from what I have already learned here. He probably just figured with this many properties he could make a quick killing and move on. The epitome of there is no such thing as getting rich quick.

Oh and Karen you can add a clean link by clicking the Icon that looks like a chain and coping and pasting the website URL there. It should look like this when you are done original story post here.

Mehran;

Right now my plans are:

  • Year 1 start in the Wholesaling trade banking the majority of the income.
  • Years 2-5 Continue wholesaling and begin to buy and hold properties for residual rental income.
  • Years 5-10 start getting into larger deals with larger residuals.
  • Year 10 and beyond "retire" from my full time job and buy a property once or twice a year to rehab.

At least this is my standing plan right now. I could change. Thanks for asking.

I am a new member and total newbie at all of this. I am currently living North East of Philadelphia right across the bridge from Trenton Nj. I am very interested in finding a Mentor/ Friend to allow both of us to grow our businesses.

While I do not have the most to offer in finances or experience. I can offer any one the following:

  • I am fairly tech savy and can set up websites and autoresponders on web pages. As well as, create squeeze pages. ( a few years ago I was working part time as an internet marketer without much success).
  • I have a back ground in Construction. My father is an electrician and I spent the majority of m child hood and teen years working for him and helping remodel his home.
  • I am currently a Tool and Die maker and I specialize in programming and running a CNC machining center. As well as, a lot of CAD design and drafting work.

I also want to say that I very relieved being on this forum. It is one of the first I have ever been on that is not being constantly being spammed by marketers. Most of which do not want to contribute but want to mainly build links. I would like to thank all members in advance for their help and guidance.
