I have been looking at the company Groundfloor as a way to start investing in real estate.  They are a hard money lender with investors who can put in as little as $100.00.  I plan on investing more.  I also have a SDIRA set up with another company (QuestIRA).  I know Groundfloor also allows one to set up a SDIRA with them.  I would like to keep my money with Quest for now.  Is there a way to set up an account with Groundfloor and use my SDIRA funds without changing custodians?  Looking to know the legal implications and the tax implications this could have. Thank you in advance!

@Richard Allen, I have checked out your website before when I was looking at buying a note. However, my small IRA does not qualify for purchases. Are you saying you also sell the properties that have been taken back? Could you direct me to that link in your site so I can review your offerings?

I know I will have to obtain a no recourse loan if I use my IRA, so where do I start when looking for a lender? If I am going out of state does my lender have to be in that state?

Thanks for all your help!

Thank you for your post. It was very insightful. I am looking to purchase my first property and have been hung up on the analysis. You have encouraged me to move forward and start making offers.

Kim Knaust I have been looking at buying property in the Claremore area. I have family there and thought it might be a good place to invest. What are your thoughts on the market in that area? You can PM if you like.

Thanks for moving this! I agree @Mindy Jensen. This is the kind of feedback I was hoping for. I did a little research on Google and have come to the conclusion this is not the niche for me. I was looking at it as a possible use of the property. It is in a very good location for this. Don't think I want to be the one running it!  If I were to acquire it and wholesale it could be a good strategy for someone else.

I do look forward to more feedback.

Good Morning, I am looking at a possible deal which could be a nice Airbnb. Has anyone here started renting their house as an Airbnb? Wanting to know the process of getting started and if this is really that profitable. Thank you in advance. Renata M
