@David Wolber I was thinking maybe coming home from school (in Boston) and going for an owner's occupied deal and going from there. I have been keeping an eye on what is on the market in the area and it seems like doing a owners occupied is plenty doable given the what rent rates are. Thanks for the input and help! It is always appreciated. I am also very interested in attending the meetups once I get back from school!

Thanks again,

Remy

Hello,

I am looking to begin my journey into real estate starting with a rental property. I am originally from New London, CT and was wondering if anyone has any experience investing in this area or thinks it's a good place to invest in rental properties. Any advice or direction would be very appreciated.

Hello, I am currently a tenant in East Boston living in a 3-unit multifamily house. I am interested in starting my real estate investing journey with a house hack. I would like to get some input into how difficult or challenging that may be, particularly in the Boston area. Also, would doing a house hack with a friend be a good or bad idea? Any advice or pointers would be great! Thank you!

@Vinny Lopes Thank you very much! I am very open/interested in investing all around the state, especially anywhere that has a great deal. If in that area, I will definitely reach out! Thanks again!

@Michael Spittler I am looking to invest in SE CT as well as make great connections down here in the area as well. Also, it would be great to work together, I’m always looking to team up/build a team!
@Michael Spittler thank you for reaching out! It’s awesome to hear from another investor right in the same area! Your advice was spot about the differences between the New London County market and the Boston market. I was definitely thrown off the first time I looked and saw the price differences for myself! I really appreciate the input! Thanks again and best of luck to you as well!
@Scott Hollister thank you very much for your advice and pointers, they are very useful! I definitely think an FHA/203k loan on a multi family will be the best way to start out. Thanks again!

@Ned Carey Thank you very much for your response! I'll be sure to check it out. Much appreciated!

@DJ Richmond Thank you for your response and opinion! I have been researching multi family homes and the benefits to doing exactly what you said (living in one unit and renting out the other units). I'm glad your experience in it went well, it is encouraging to hear about the success in that area the positive feedback! Very appreciated.

Hello,

I am brand new to BiggerPockets and the RE industry. I am very interested in multi-family and single-family homes, as well as apartment rentals. While I'm originally from Southeastern Connecticut, I currently am a full time student in Boston, MA and would preferably start my investing career in the Greater Boston Area. I am eager to make great connections and learn as much as I can about real estate. If anyone has any advice or good pointers for a newbie RE investor, please share your thoughts & opinions!

Thank you!
