REI it wasnt a scam. The guy I worked with is a reputable software developer/ trader. I didnt give him any of my money..in fact he gave me the software and even payed for the esignal; among other things.

But the reason it didnt work out wasn't because I didnt know how to trade well enough; in fact he was going to set me up an account to trade with his money first then other peoples money.

also I thought about hvac, electrical, and plumbing but the job market here is really bad. and it would take 4 years for me to make as much money as I would if I became an entry level BMW tech.

I looked for the most amount of money I could make in the least amount of time so I can start investing and going to school to be a BMW tech is my best shot. Since I love cars/ working on cars I wont mind doing that fo a while untill I can save up enough money to invest with.

thanks bluestarhomes. I thought about going to a four year college and getting a degree in business, but I couldn't stand the thought of wasting all that time in class and being in debt that much. Its fine for some people and im not knocking it but I have decided that it is not right for me.

But I do intend to attend college when I have enough money to actually go to school for something I enjoy like astronomey and physics.

Thanks everyone!!!

I haven't posted on this site in a long time, but stop by and read the forums regularly. Last time I posted I was going to take my pre licensing course. Well, I passed it with flying colors dispite having the teacher gone for half the course.

I tried to get a job at one of the major companys(and they where going to hire me...but I didnt have the money to do it). So that didnt work out!

Then I got an opportunity of a life time to work with a group of Commercial realestate investors. I work with them for a few months then due to finacial reasons we had to end our arrangement( they had a few hundred houses and the market is really bad; so you can imagine)

So that didnt work out and then I found another opportunity of a life time to work for a FOREX IB. only problem was...I didnt know what forex was .haha so i had to learn real fast and in about three days I learned forex....not everything but enough.

The first week I made..WELL over 10K.but all that was in a demo account so It really didnt matter. Short story is...was promised and account...he keep procrastining. Then he tired to change the terms. so I said forget it.

ok on to the point!

Now im going to be attending school in Orlando. To become an auto tech.
the school is one year and at the end of it I should be makeing at least $20 an hour..but the school cost 25k plus what it cost for me to live..which would be another 15k so i would be in debt 40k.

So im asking what everyone thinks I should do. Should I go to the school then get a job and save up money for investing or should I save up my money to trade in forex and not be in debt..I dont know im lost! and im 18.

and I posting this on a realestate investing forum..because REI is my passion and I'd like the opinion of people who are into realestate!

Thanks in advance!

what are your goals? how much money do you have? where is your location? Are you doing this with a partner?

maybe starting out you could buy a mobile home?

if your lender is just handing out money for you to get their kid to do something why not buy a muti unit complex or and office building?

also if you offering an all cash offer then you need to negotiate a low purchase price.

jay g,

how much money do you have saved up? most people's first year as an agent they dont make much money. but if you have some money saved up then i say you should do it.

your still young and can make mistakes. its alittle harder to try some new when you have a wife and kids to support. try it out for a while and if it doesnt work out you can go back to being an eletrical engineer.

I say go out and buy at least 10 REI books and read them. learn as much as you can. if you still want to do it in a month then go for yor license.

also what part fo florida do you live in?

Good thanks for asking. I researched that book and it looked good so I went to the book store and they have to order it...should be here in a couple days.

Also I start prelicenseing school in two weeks but, after I finish I still have to wait untill im 18. I had to talk them into letting me do the school even though I am not 18. I was thinking about getting a job at a brokerage firm for a couple months untill i get my license.

i have a couple questions. Can i take the schooling for my brokers license even though i cant take it for a while?.

Is there anything special i have to do to work in commercial?

thanks in advance!

HI everyone i just wanted to introduce myself.

Im a 17yr old aspiring real estate investor that lives in sarasota florida. I have been into RE since I was 15. I have spent the last two years or so learning all i can about real estate.

I have read lots of books and to many e-books and articles pertaining to RE to even count.
I spend mutiple hours every day on the computer trying to learn more.

When i turn 18 i plan on geting my reale state sales persons licence and hopefully go in to commercial RE lease/sales. untill i save up a little capitol to start my investment career.

I did have a job offer at 16 for a stock brokerage company when turn 18 but, i dont really want to do that.

i hope to talk to a lot of intresting people and learn a lot for this site. :D
