@Andrew McKinnon are you house hacking in a SF or MF? If SF, is the market on that side of town pretty good for getting rooms rented out?

Hi there, 

I am looking into real estate deals in the Houston, TX area. All the deals I am looking at will definitely need some work, but how do I go about making the repairs? Should I contact contractors or handymen, if so, how many to get bids from before using someone?
