Over the past couple months, I have been ramping up on learning about real estate and the market. I have caught the bug! Due to the ongoing pandemic, I've had a lot of unknowns regarding when I will be moving for work though. I am currently living in Florida, but will be moving to Pennsylvania, but have no way of knowing when that will happen. My plan is to house hack a multi-family property when I do buy my first property.

My question is: what can a newbie do in this waiting phase to move towards the goal of buying my first property? What are actionable items other than reading and listening to podcasts I can do?

Thank you

Sadly I am an Android user and have not gotten to experience this. Definitely cool that it is able to spread conversations and knowledge!

Hello everyone,

I am confused on specifically what people mean when they say they are a landlord vs a property manager. I am trying to decide if I want to also do property management when I get a rental, but I don't understand the distinction between the two. What are the jobs associated with landlording vs property management? Are they simply the same?

@Katie Greenman Does your employer do any match to whatever you contribute? If so, I would definitely max that out, since that's basically "free" money. Afterwards, save, save, save to reach your real estate goals. I'm currently 21 doing this exact strategy.

Hi, I am looking to buy my first property as a house hack in the Pittsburgh area.

However, when I mentioned to someone I planned on renting out rooms in the single family home, they told me in this area it might not be legal and I could run into issues doing that.

Anyone have experience or know where I could get more information to get a solid answer on this?

Thank you
