@paul timmins

Thank you for the tips! I appreciate it and will be looking for groups in my area soon.

@mike hurney unfortunately my student loans are private and not forgivable, tho I do get calls constantly for student loan forgiveness. I will just work extra hard to get them paid down so I can move on with my life!

Hello!

I have been listening to the podcast for a while now and have ignored the request from Josh and brandon to introduce myself at the end of every episode.  (Sorry!)  So here I am! Big thank you to the guys for getting me excited and teaching me so many things that I will hopefully not have to relearn by messing up when I start!

At the moment I am a real estate agent focused on the south shore in MA.  I work as a team with my dad and we are on the brink of starting our own agency.  Our goals are first to put out our financial fires.  I have huge student loan debt that is making it impossible for me to get on with my life the way I want to.  We are starting by hiring agents all over the state.  Once we have found ourselves in a good enough position to do so we plan on investing.  I know, that is so broad. We are still trying to determine which type of investing is going to be best for us.  Each type of investing is so interesting and exciting to think about so we really need to determine what is most practical,  my thoughts are that we should start with buy and hold until we have enough passive income that we can start doing more of the fun stuff like flipping.

If there is anyone who wants to connect for any reason or if there is anything that I can do to help anyone please feel free to get in touch. I am looking forward to meeting new people and learning as much as I can before we pull the trigger!

"In that case you want to find a broker (I am assuming you have just the salesperson's license) who will let you hang your license and give you a very generous split.  Are these people too busy to sell the places themselves?"

I have a broker now but they are going to set me up with a broker they already work with so I would have to terminate my relationship with my current broker.  I believe they want to focus on flipping and want someone to hand over the sales side of the business so they don't have to worry about it.  I'm also a photographer which helps them a great deal.  I would love to have an idea as to what I am worth to them or if a position like this is salary + commission or commission only but there are really no guidelines for a position like this that I have found.

haha No, not Boston.  They seem to be located in the Brockton area, I believe they are focused on the south shore.  I don't have a full grasp on what they are expecting out of me.  I know they will be using me as a realtor so I will probably be looking for homes for them to invest in as well as selling homes that they have flipped.

I have a new opportunity to team up with a couple people who flip homes or simply purchase homes to sell at retail prices.  I am fairly new to the game of Real Estate but I learn fast.  They are looking for a full time in house realtor and I also happen to be an architectural photographer which will help them quite a bit.

My main question is what are some key words or ideas that I need to have in my deck for my interview and what kind of deal would you make here?  I am hoping for a salary + commission position but I don't know what to expect with this kind of opportunity.

Any information or ideas are greatly appreciated!
