@Colin Kanuch I'd say simply drive around Baltimore and you'll quickly discover the areas you'd want to invest in and avoid. If you don't feel comfortable stopped at a stop sign while driving around I would say avoid it. I'd also suggest going to public auctions and simply watching and meeting the auctioneer and auction associates. I went to 3 auctions last week, all row homes and in different area types, all sold for under 35k.

@Errol St Marthe all online activity is down from my understanding. Title companies are having to physically go to the municipal building and they are recording all transactions by hand. They only do so many in a day so transactions are taking much longer than usual. I'm not sure when it's expected to be back to normal.

@Lamont Marable Thank you for the welcome and the head up! Is there anyway you could send me info or a link to this BWI meetup? I can't seem to find it on my own search.

@Yannik Cudjoe-Virgil I'm interested in 2-6 unit properties to start out and see how it goes from there.

Hello BP Community,

My name is Benjamin Meyer, I'm 24 years old with an ambition to buy and hold multi-family properties in and around the Baltimore area.  I live in Baltimore County, specifically Catonsville. I have lived here my whole life and in 2017, with the help of an old friend, purchased the house I had been living in since I was a child.

I currently work as a line cook at one of the busiest restaurants in Catonsville. I also have an interest in furniture and hardwood restoration. As far as my experience with REI, I have very little, aside from renting out a couple rooms in my home.

I have been shopping for properties for the past month and narrowing down my criteria. I would like to start acquiring multi-family properties sometime this year or next with the help of a partner(s).

Thank you for your time, Ben
