Hey Jim Horne,

Thanks for reaching out and thank you for your service. I am excited to see where this I-26 expansion is gonna go. I work in Emergency Restoration, so we drive around the city a lot, and the first piece of advice I got was stay away from I-26 south of the city. That things a parking lot at rush hour and if there's an accident, forget it. I know the Fletcher area is coming up right now but I think that's due to Asheville growing outward. My prediction is when the expansion is complete home values south of Asheville are gonna jump. There's a couple other areas around here that I'm keeping an eye on. I think they're the next ones to jump up.

I'd love to connect and see what you're into over in Charlotte area. I'll PM you and send you an invite and we can get together.

Ray

Thanks for reaching out Christopher Kirwan. I'd be really interested in learning what you're doing there by the equestrian center. I'll be reaching out to you for sure.

Hey Tyler Housholder,

Just saw your post. Perfect last name for REI and congrats on the new wife. Just got mine last Dec as well. I know it's been 3 months since your post. Wanted to see if you've gotten into your flip yet. Asheville's a tough market to get into from what I've seen. Not impossible, but tough. Easy to find turn key at market value but you really have to dig to find good priced rehab deals. Hope you've had good luck the last few months. Interested to hear how you've done so far.

I think most of these posts are correct. Been in Asheville a little while now. The turnover rate for rentals is super low making it hard to find a rental. So if you can find the deals (and they're still out there) there won't be a problem renting it out for sure. I have found a few deals that were pretty good but don't have my financing in place for a buy and hold yet. Hard region to break into from what I've learned so far. But I love a good challenge. Just keep your eyes open. The deals are still there especially if you can rehab more than paint and carpet. Just might not be as plentiful as other markets. You may want to check out towards Charlotte/Gastonia areas. From my research that's gonna be the closest markets to check out from Asheville. Good luck. I'll be interested to see  how you guys end up doing.

Jd Martin! I appreciate the input. It is crazy. I live in Candler now and am interested in that market along with West Asheville. Also looking at surrounding areas. Been keeping an eye on the I-26 expansion south of Asheville. I think if it all happens the way they talk, values down south are gonna jump when they're finished. Hendersonville from what I've seen is one of the places I can still find some decent deals. If I can find the right one now it could be a good pay off if I hold it till the expansion is completed. Either way there's no more room in Asheville for growth. They're gonna have to start moving outwards. So my focus is on markets within 30 min of Asheville while keeping an eye on the Asheville area. There are still deals out there. Just found a duplex that I'm pretty sure could be a tri in Biltmore Forest for under $150,000. Also looking at a 3bd 1ba deal in Candler to try and lease with the option to buy with owner financing I think I could get for under $90,000. Going to check out the property today after work. Hoping to find enough space to add a bath. Where are you looking at in Tennessee? I've heard reno there is pretty easy. Very lax permitting laws.

Dmitriy Fomichenko, thanks for the recommendations. I've check out a couple of these and they are fantastic. Especially like the podcast. Been working my way from #1. Think I'm on 40 now.  I appreciate you reaching out to me though. Best of luck!

That's for the welcome Kai Kopsch! I've been checking out the Charlotte market as well. Looking at back up markets to get into in the area. Asheville is crazy to try to get into. Think I'm gonna start farming stuff 30min outside Asheville and work my way in as deals come up. But I've already seen some deals that were enticing in Charlotte. May have to start there. But glad to know someone in that region. Do you stick to that area or invest towards Asheville as well?

Hey guys, I appreciate you welcoming me to BP. Good advice about focus @Jared Wengerd. Totally true for anything you want to accomplish in life. @Christopher K. I agree. I like goals as well. I like to set long term and short term goals, with every short term goal bringing me closer to the long. Good Steve Jobs quote as well. As long as I've researched, studied, drove for dollars or even made a connection that didn't quite work out, they're all learning experiences that help me reach my final destination of success.

Thanks again guys. I hope our paths cross again virtual or otherwise. Best of luck on your future deals. See you around BP!

Ray

Hey All. New to BP and REI and also new to the Asheville area. Plan on using my VA loan to get me started in a multi BRRRR and house hack till I can refi and get that landlord experience. Hope to flip with my refi to fund my cushion and start my next deal. Got my keywords on, listen to the podcast every day all day (started @ 1). Super excited to get started. Looking for my multi deal now and hope to have it done in 6 months when my rental lease is up. Love this site, on it every day. Hoping to meet some people in the Asheville area and start my team. Thanks BP for all the great content you provide, FREE!
