I'm interested in any info on this as well.  I am looking to do my first deal within the next few months and I do like the idea of a new home that "shouldn't" have any issues for a few years.

Awesome, I was just thinking about how to connect with other Veteran Investors!!

This is an awesome offer!  I am in Calif for the next few months but if you are doing another renovation in June or July timeframe I'll help out while gaining some knowledge.

Very motivating.  I'm in Upland, and starting out as well. So far I've just been studying my tail off and trying to learn how to analyze deals!

Welcome to BP! I'm new here as well and will be starting out in The Utah county area. Learn as much as you can but don't forget to take action!

@Andrew Dean Random Question, I am still in the process of learning, But I was researching FHA loans and most literature says

  • Borrowers must have a steady employment history or worked for the same employer for the past two years.

I do have steady employment History, BUT for the past 3 years I have alternated from full time Employee to 1099 Independent Contractor each year; and in January I will most likely start 1099 work again for up to a year.

Would you know how this may affect my qualification for this type of loan?

@Becca Summers  Awesome, thanks!

@Becca Summers When I lived in Utah, I lived in Orem and Provo for about 4 years and Heber (Wasatch county) for about 2 years.  So I am thinking primarily Orem and Provo because I'm most familiar with that area; and I'm interested in American Fork and Lehi area as well.
