I moved to Pittsburgh about 8 months ago and started educating myself about real estate shortly afterwards. ACRE and WPREIA are great places to start to learn and network. I try to attend the meetings monthly plus we attend a REIA subgroup meeting weekly. To answer your question specifically, REIA is very open to new members and you will find that Josh Caldwell is very approachable -as are most of the investors in the meetings. I have also attended Joe Callaways's events and I know I'll continue to attend as they have been very informative! Plus you've got to love that he is raising funds for charity... Just join and see how it feels for you. I know I am very thankful to have found such a dynamic and friendly group.

Congratulations! It sounds awesome!

Hi Joe

Check out Pittsburgh REIA and ACRE. They both have meetings monthly.

Good luck!

There are at least 2 REIA association in Pittsburgh: ACRE and WPREIA. If you research these, you'll find out about their next meetings.

Best of luck,

Raphaele

Thank you for your reply @Jeremy Pace I was looking at Beechview. I was also wondering about Coraopolis and Carnegie because of some listings we saw there. I guess I was hoping this website could be helpful to better understand neighborhoods. It is difficult to get to know a city when you first get there. Perhaps you would have some suggestions? Thank you.

Good afternoon

I was wondering if anyone had used the www.neighborhoodscout.com website and if it had proven to be a worthwhile investment.

I am new in Pittsburgh and I came across this website as I was researching a particular neighborhood.

Thanks

Good afternoon

I am new to Pittsburgh and to real estate investing. As I am building my education through reading books and listening to the BP podcast, I am eager to get to know other investors in the area. I have joined ACRE and will also join the WPREIA this month, but I was just wondering  if there were any BP meet-ups in the area?

Thank you and looking forward to continuing learning through all the discussions on the forum.
