@Mayu Thava thank you for your help. I live in the Northumberland area and I have heard that there are meetings around but have never been able to figure out where or when so I think the Durham region is where I will have to branch out to.

@David Nakkila I am around the Port Hope area. I am quite new at this. I am determined to do it but I need to network and meet people to learn more. So any info is always appreciated. Thank you

@Huong Luu Thank you for commenting, this info I am getting is helping me figure out where I want to go with all this. my area is booming with real estate, its actually at an all time high right now because we are not too far from the cities. Yes my next step is to work on eliminating any debt and seeing what I can be pre approved for. The unfortunate part is I do not have any family with enough to help me out which is why I want to change that. But when it comes to a first investment property would you suggest sticking with single family to understand how the deal and land-lording is then looking into a duplex? What was your first approach?

@Theresa Harris Thank you very much, I have never quite looked at it in the sense where i want to retire and such, kinda opened my eyes when you said that. I was hoping to get a sing family that needs a bit of work then rent it to start. Then when i sort of learn the ropes and understand the process get into multifamily.

I live in Ontario where the market right now is a little crazy is some places. I have been doing a lot of research on real estate investing. The next step is trying to learn the ins and outs a little more as most of the info i tend to read and take notes on is U.S based stuff. I'm finding it difficult to find out as much info on the things you can do in Canada. I have been looking for local meet ups in my area but can't seem to find any. What I am really asking is how did other Canadians get into real estate investing? I like the hustle, I like the numbers but before i make my first purchases, i want to know what other people did to learn the market better. Where did you get money if the bank won't give you the amount you need? are there a lot of hard money lenders or is that not as common or is it the result of being able to network with more people? I have a lot of questions i could ask but i also have a lot of ambition so I know that i will learn more about the ways we do it here by doing it. But I know networking is where i need to start.
Thank you yo anyone that replies. Any info is greatly appreciated
